Today you will find another review on the products of the company AMG Models. This company appeared quite a long time ago, but recently intensified its activities and began to produce a lot of interesting and high-quality models, showing an example of beautiful performance in the LND.

Last time we considered the model of Sharotanka (https://vk.com/wall-114983756_35907), and today on the agenda the theme is more sublime and winged.

Meet-Model Soviet multipurpose aircraft R-5 created by N. N, Polikarpovym at the end of the 1920s. This polutoroplan was used as a bomber, Stormtrooper, Scout, liaison and transport aircraft in the 30s of the 20th century. The active participation of R-5 was also in the initial stage of the Great Patriotic War, although in general and remained in the shadow of his  "younger brother " Po-2.

This set is the first embodiment of this model in plastic. Previously there was only a rare resin set from Rest Models. Now we have a great model, made by casting under low pressure, but with detailing and quality high. In addition to plastic, the kit includes Photopoisoning, a film for transparent parts and a good decal.

Box-in the inherent AMG minimalistic style, with the sides of the color options on the end of the lid. Inside are freely placed parts packed in several packages. Decal, transparent film and photopoisoning-in a separate package.

Instruction detailed and clear, with attention to trifles (there are templates for details from a wire, etc.), but without indications of colours for colouring small things. This will complicate the assembly not only novice, but also experienced modelists, because the information on the prototype is not so much.


Also there is no scheme of installation of Raschalok that for a biplane is important.

Coloring schemes-black and white, but very informative.

Decal quality, without shifting colors, with bright red color. The matte is thin, there is no color bias. There should be no problems when applying.

The transparent film with the scales of devices printed on it and visors of cabins not only allows to depict these visors with the large-scale thickness, but also to collect instrument boards on a method  "sandwich " when on a plastic basis the transparent film is glued, Painted on the back side in white color. In front it is closed with a detail from photopoisoning. As a result of the scales of devices will look beautiful devices with white scales and glossy  "glasses ".


In photopoisoning various details of an interior and an exterior are given, including a backrest of a pilot's chair with perforation, scopes on machine-guns and even fastening of Raschalok. Photopoisoning is not much (as previously happened at AMG) and not enough, just right. The quality of the photopoisoning is good,  "feeders " details are thin.

To simulate arcs on the lower wing in the set is given wire.

Well, the most interesting thing is plastic. The castings themselves are of grey color, of moderately soft polystyrene, pleasant to work. The casting itself is chic. The weight and the chip are not present, the joints of molds are imperceptible. The detail is amazing.

The cloth and riveting on metal details are perfectly executed. Especially cool looks hood, with double rows of riveting, locks, etc. Well worked out Мелочевка, detailing the interior and exterior at the level of 32 of the scale. Of course due to the technology of casting some details. such as machine gun trunks, starter ratchet on the screw nut, nozzles and others are made without holes, but it is easy to fix.

Actually, there is a rumor that the creation of this model has a hand known in narrow circles Master v. Muichchko, who previously created models for ICM. The model's mattress and attention to detail at the height. And in the further plans-extensions of a line of modifications of this plane in 48 ohm scale and release of model in 1/72. And now the R-5 is produced in 1/144 scale, and with stunning detailing!

To summarize, I want to say that the model of AMG was successful! Of course the theme of the model is quite narrow, designed for fans of domestic aviation, and the price of the set is not small. But it justifies its price!)
