Hi guys, I haven't shared much regarding the SR-71 project, in cooperation with Gaspatch Models. That's partly because I have been working on a lot of small detail which took a lot of time. But there is also the part where I don't want to "give away" too much of that detail because with the design advancing and turning into first steel and then plastic things may change, need to be updated of modified. And, last but not least, we are of course aware of a more or less simultaneous development by a competitor...
That said, I think you guys should know that the project is well under way and shape as well as detail design work is pretty much complete (only took a mere 6 years). Here are some renders showing the top side panel lines (showing off the complex fuselage shape) and some detail teasers of what to expect for cockpit and wheel wells. There is a lot more not shown here though, incl. many optional and time specific parts. The exterior shots show the ASARS II nose. Note also that certain areas appear to be empty or incomplete in some renders, but that's because not all detail is loaded in all the separate CAD working files, in order to make them "lighter" while working on them.
